ANDREW EKDAHL DDS
Dr. Andrew Ekdahl was raised and graduated high school in nearby L’Anse, Michigan. After high school, he attended Michigan State University where he received his degree in Human Biology. Following his undergraduate work, Dr. Ekdahl attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor where he obtained his dental degree in 2012.
Dr. Ekdahl is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the local chapter of the Superior District Dental Society. He resides in Negaunee Township with his wife Cassey and daughters Natalie, Paige and Abigail.

ASHLEY BRINTLINGER DDS
Peninsula Family Dentistry would like to welcome Dr. Ashley Brintlinger, DDS to our team! Dr. Brintlinger is a Negaunee native and has been raising a family and practicing dentistry in the Marquette area for the past few years. She is looking forward to returning to her home town to help serve the community’s oral health needs at our Negaunee location.
Dr. Brintlinger is University of Michigan alumni and a member of the American Dental Association.

MATTHEW PALOMAKI DDS
Dr. Matthew Palomaki was born a “Bell Baby” and raised in Marquette. He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and attended dental school at the University of Tennessee. Prior to joining Peninsula Family Dentistry, he practiced in Tennessee for 15 years. Dr. Palomaki relocated back to the Upper Peninsula with his wife and four children at the end of 2022 and is excited to be back home. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Society and the Superior District Dental Society.

PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
This practice is based on the premise that prevention is the key to long term oral health care. The goal is to provide you with current, state of the art dental evaluations and treatment in a manner which is both caring and comfortable for you. It is our firm belief that the better you understand your dental condition, the more successful your dental treatment will be. As a result, we continuously strive to provide comprehensive patient education. We encourage questions and suggestions.
INITIAL VISIT
The initial visit is designed to be the time for the patient and doctor to discuss the patient’s medical and dental histories, interpret radiographic findings and clinically diagnose any pathology. We believe this is a time where the patient can voice his/her expectations. We, as a dental team, also use this time to let you know how we function.
SERVICES WE PROVIDE
Complete exams, x-rays, and dental cleanings
Fillings, root canals, and extractions
Cosmetic dentistry, such as whitening, porcelain and composite veneers
Implant restoration
Crowns, bridges, full and partial dentures
Night guards
Preventive care, periodontal therapy, and nutritional counseling.
FAMILY TREATMENT
According to the American Dental Association, a child should have their first dentist visit by age 1 or within six month after the first tooth erupts. Here at Peninsula Family Dentistry, we are happy to schedule "friendly visits," and are glad to see your child, even if no treatment is done.

DENISE // DENTAL HYGIENIST
Denise is a Dental Hygienist who has worked with at Peninsula Family Dentistry for over 20 years. She is a graduate of Ferris State University and is licensed in local anesthesia. Denise enjoys spending time with her two grandsons and going to camp with her family and canine companions. She loves the variety and challenges that come with working in the dental field. Denise’s experience and attention to her patients’ needs are exceptional.
COLLEEN // DENTAL HYGIENIST
Colleen is a Dental Hygienist who has worked at Peninsula Family Dentistry for over 20 years. She is a graduate of Ferris State University and is licensed in local anesthesia. She enjoys working with patients and taking care of their dental needs. Colleen provides patients with professional and super care.
GAIL // DENTAL ASSISTANT
Gail has been a tremendous and friendly part of the team for the past 20 years. She enjoys being able to help keep your smile healthy and being able to get to know the patients. Her priority is making sure that they are relaxed and as comfortable as possible throughout their visit. Our team is exceptional at making everyone feel welcome! Gail has achieved the Dental Assistant Certification, Radiation Health and Safety Certification, and CPR with the State of Michigan.
JEN // DENTAL ASSISTANT
Jen joined the PFD family in November of 2019, and has been in the dental field since 2006, with 10 of those years working specifically in Pediatric Dentistry. In 2013 she became a Registered Dental Assistant, after completing the RDA program through Washtenaw Community College. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, and says that her most favorite things about dentistry are building relationships with patients, while also helping to keep their smiles beautiful and healthy. Jen is a U.P. native who loves living life as a mom, and being married to her husband Wilson.
ZADA // OFFICE MANAGER- MQT
Zada has been working at Peninsula Family Dentistry for over seven years and is the Office Manager of the Marquette location. In addition to overseeing the front office, she is a Certified Dental Assistant. She loves doing a little bit of everything and assists both patients and doctors with their dental benefits, billing, x-rays, and more. Zada lives in Marquette with her husband Chad, sons James and Osmond and dog Wilma.

Ashley joined the PFD family in April of 2022. She has over 20 years of customer service experience. She is a native of the area and resides in Negaunee with her husband Liam and their dog Stella. She enjoys spending her summers on the beach, camping, and traveling with her family. In the winter, you can find her out at our local ski hill or snuggled up at home reading a good book.
MARYSE // DENTAL HYGIENIST
Maryse, a Manistique native, is a 2017 graduate from Ferris State University's dental hygiene program. She aspired to go into dentistry after undergoing orthodontic treatment several years ago. Maryse thoroughly enjoys reading, spending quality time with close friends and family, playing volleyball, and learning new things. Her favorite aspect of her position also happens to be the most important part of her job: educating patients about good oral health, products available to them, and ways to prevent dental disease. She resides in Marquette with her husband Josh and their son.
JENNA // DENTAL HYGIENIST
Jenna is a Marquette native and graduate of Marquette Senior High School. She received her dental hygiene degree from Ferris State University, graduating in 2017. Since graduating, she has continued her education in dental hygiene in order to offer the best and most current care. She enjoys camping, kayaking, hockey, and spending time with her family and friends. She resides in Marquette with her husband Matt, dog Marley and is expecting her first baby in May 2023.
WHITNEY // DENTAL ASSISTANT
Whitney joined PFD in July 2021. Her first three years of dental assisting prior to joining our team, were focused on pediatrics. She loved educating kids on their oral health and helping to create a fun experience. She really enjoys working with patients of all ages and looks forward to helping them have a positive dental experience at our Negaunee office. Whitney is a Yooper native, raised in L'Anse and now lives in Ishpeming with her daughter, Ariea. Outside of the office you can find her exploring the great outdoors with her daughter, friends, and family. She is always up for an adventure!

Deb joined PFD in March 2021. She has worked in the dental field for the past 10 years assisting patients with scheduling. What she enjoys most about her job is interacting with patients. She currently lives in Ishpeming with her husband and dog. She also enjoys spending time with her two children and grandson and being out at camp with friends. She looks forward to taking your calls and answering any questions.
CHELSEA // DENTAL ASSISTANT
A Troll turned Yooper, joined our team September 2020 where her love for brushing and flossing inspired her to become a Dental Assistant at our office. Her and her Love recently purchased a house with some land where you can find them out hunting, fishing, exploring and just admiring the great U.P. on. "Adventure is out there!"
They have plans to expand their house and start their own little hobby farm for them and their family to enjoy.
When she isn't tackling home projects she's out playing on the local softball and volleyball leagues or traveling the world.
